A vocal coach, music director, and college instructor in New York, Brett founded BROADWAY PLAYGROUND to help aspiring performers connect and learn from top industry professionals. With students featured in Broadway and touring companies of Wicked, Hamilton, The Prom, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, The Book Of Mormon, Come From Away, The Lion King, Aladdin, Kinky Boots, Rock Of Ages, Mary Poppins, and Annie, Brett is passionate about challenging and inspiring artists to discover success.

 

Brett's musical directing/conducting credits include: 42nd Street (National Tour), Hairspray (National Tour), Les Miserables, Cats, Miss Saigon, The Will Rogers Follies, Fiddler On The Roof, Beauty And The Beast, and A Chorus Line. Brett served as Music Director for Broadway In South Africa, Broadway Under The Stars in Sonoma, and National Tours of Chuggington! (Disney), Scooby-Doo Live!, and Sesame Street Live! Brett is Vocal Director for Royal Caribbean International and travels the globe casting.

 

Brett has written and developed three original musicals. His first, Take Two! The Online Dating Musical! earned rave reviews for the World Premiere Production at Northern Stage. He also composed the score for Mr. Popper's Penguins, which is licensed by Plays For New Audiences, and produced by multiple companies around the world. His newest work, Time Between Us, won Critic's Pick Award in the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), premiered regionally at Serenbe Playhouse, and is currently in development for an Off-Broadway run. A proud member of ASCAP, Brett wrote the music, book, & lyrics for Time Between Us, which was named 'one of the most thought-provoking, cutting edge pieces of musical theatre this decade.'

 

A graduate of The Boston Conservatory, Brett pioneered an individualized degree in Music Direction for Musical Theatre. He served on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College and continues to vocal coach many of Broadway's most notable stars.
